This policy explains how TeamSwift Solutions (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with Insta to Shorts, a private internal tool we use to publish video content from our own Instagram accounts to our own YouTube channels.
Insta to Shorts is not a public service. It is used only by TeamSwift Solutions, has no outside users, and does not collect information about members of the public.
1. Who we are
TeamSwift Solutions is the data controller for information processed by Insta to Shorts.
Website: https://teamswift-solutions.com
Contact: hello@teamswift-solutions.com
2. YouTube API Services
Insta to Shorts uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to YouTube channels we own and manage. By using Insta to Shorts, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Information handled by Google is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
3. What information the tool accesses
From YouTube / Google (through the YouTube API Services):
- The name and ID of the YouTube channel that has been connected.
- Permission to upload videos to that channel.
- The ID of each video once it has been uploaded.
- An OAuth access token and refresh token, used to keep the connection active.
From Instagram (through the official Instagram API):
- Our own posts’ videos, captions, links and publication dates.
- The account username and an access token.
The tool does not access personal information about any other person. It does not read comments, messages, subscribers, followers, viewing history or analytics.
4. How we use it
We use this information only to:
- upload our own videos to our own YouTube channels, using each post’s original caption as the title and description;
- keep a record of which videos have already been uploaded, so nothing is posted twice;
- show upload progress and errors on the tool’s private dashboard.
We do not use this information for advertising, profiling or any other purpose. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in managing and publishing our own content.
5. Storage and security
Access tokens, channel names and the upload record are stored locally in a database on a computer controlled by TeamSwift Solutions. No other server or third party stores them. Video files are downloaded temporarily during upload and deleted straight afterwards.
Insta to Shorts does not place cookies on, or store information on, the devices of members of the public. The dashboard runs only on our own computer and uses a single session cookie there to complete the Google sign-in.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share this information with anyone. The only data sent anywhere is the video and its title and description, which go to YouTube (Google) as part of each upload, and requests to Instagram (Meta) to fetch our own posts.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep stored tokens and the upload record only for as long as the tool is in use. When a channel or Instagram account is removed from the tool, its tokens and history are deleted from the local database.
Access to a Google account can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page. Once access is revoked, the tool can no longer upload to that channel. To ask for stored data to be deleted, contact us using the details above and we will delete it within 30 days.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its use. To exercise these rights, contact us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
